FAQ

What is Penor?

Penor is an independent anonymous imageboard for discussion and sharing images.

It is organized into topic-specific boards. You do not need an account to participate.

How do I make a post?

Select a board and open an existing thread or create a new one.

Enter your message, optionally enter a name, and attach files if the board allows them.

You can leave the name field blank. Depending on the board settings, your post will be displayed as Anonymous.

Do I need an account?

No. You can read and make posts without registering an account.

Some features are restricted to moderators and other authorized staff.

What are tripcodes?

A tripcode is an optional identifier that can be attached to your name.

For example, entering Bob#secret in the name field will display Bob together with a generated tripcode.

Tripcodes can help other users recognize your posts, but they are not accounts and should not be considered secure authentication.

Keep your tripcode secret if you use it as an identifier. Anyone who obtains the secret may be able to impersonate you.

How do I format my posts?

Penor supports several formatting options in post messages.

Common examples include:

  • >greentext
  • ''bold''
  • **italic**
  • __underline__
  • ~~strikethrough~~
  • ||spoiler text||
  • >>123 to quote a post
  • `inline monospace`

Some features may be restricted or configured differently depending on the board.

What are the upload limits?

Current file size limit is a little under 10MB.

Do not upload illegal content or material prohibited by the rules.

You are responsible for the content you upload.

How does moderation work?

Moderation is performed by the site's staff and may take place whenever necessary.

Posts may be removed and users may be banned or otherwise restricted for violating the rules or disrupting the site.

Boards may have additional rules or moderation policies.

Moderation decisions are made at the discretion of the site's staff.

How can I contact the administration?

Use reports if you want a post to be reviewed.

Send an e-mail to [email protected] otherwise.
